Curriculum vitae of Rembrandt Gerlach {as a musician}
Finished his studies in 1974 at the Utrechts Conservatorium; Main subject: Guitar; with Dick Visser. Continued his classical and contemporary guitar studies with Leo Brouwer, Abel Carlevaro, Hubert Käppel, Manuel Barrueco and David Russel.. Vihuela{16th century guitar} with Xavier Hinojosa and Paul O’Dette. Flamenco guitar with Manolo Sanlucar and Rafael Cuén Caribi. Guitar composition with Leo Brouwer. Workshops composition with Ton de Leeuw.

1977 – 1981 Guitar Harpsichord Duo with Dick Hollander. Last concert 22–04-1981 in:” De Kleine Zaal” of “ Het Concertgebouw “ in Amsterdam.
1982 Guitar Harpsichord Duo with Gudula Kremers {Brazil} 02-08-1982 in Heidelberg-”Groszen Rathaussaal Im Rahmen des Internationalen Meisterkurs von Abel Carlevaro für Klassische Gitarre in Deutschland”.
1982 -1984 Concerts and performances also in Dutch radio broadcastings{KRO} by ‘Het Driemanschap’{The threemansship} David George-Violin- first violinplayer in ‘Het Brabants Orkest’Rembrandt Gerlach –Guitar{see teachingactivities}- Ronald v. 1984 -1985 Guitar Solo performances and Guitar-Harpsichord performances in concerts with JanVerhoeven{Harpsichord} in solo and duo-works among others in compositions by RembrandtGerlach in several Dutch radio broadcastings{KRO}
1985 -1987 In ‘Gelders Componisten Podium’: active as a composer and a performer as well
1987 -1988 Avant-Garde and contemporary elektro-acoustical concerts:Guitar Solo and Guitar- Harpsichord{with Annelie de Man} and with members of ‘ Het Brabants Orkest’. In compositions a.o. by Jukka Tiensuu , Clarence Barlow , Rembrandt Gerlach Tristan Keuris and Theo Louvendie.
1988-1991 Guitarsolo recitals and as a guitarsoloist in ‘Fantasia para un Gentilhombre para Guitarra y Orquesta by Joaquin Rodrigo’ In cooperation with ‘Het Filharmonisch Orkest ‘ s-Hertogenbosch’ Conductor: Jacques van den Dool.
1992-1994 Besides guitar solo recitals, guitar-flute duo concerts with Annette van Staalen and guitar-violin concerts with Martin Hak; active as a violonist in Het Brabants Orkest.
1995–2000 Cooperation with Roelof Hartholt-Churchorgan-Piano-Keyboard –Poetry and Rembrandt Gerlach-Guitar-Singing-Guitat-Flamencoguitar-Say- and Rappoetry in concerts with Music and Poetry by others and themselves.
1996 Duo-program with the Dutch Poet : Rutger Kopland. Duo-program with the Dutch Poetess : Neeltje Maria Min.
1999 – 2009 More solo performances with Guitar/Singing-Guitar-Vihuela-Flamencoguitar-Say- and Rappoetry. In one concert: more themes like ‘Child’, ‘Mother’,‘Dance’,‘Resistance’, ‘The Past and Today’in Classical,Early,Contemporary,Pop{ular}, ‘South American and Flamencostyles and Poetry and Music by Rembrandt Gerlach.

22 – 06 – Farewell Concert { in a Solo Performance by myself} in de ‘Poorterij’ in Zaltbommel – The Netherlands – because of my departure at ‘De Plantage’ Centre of the Arts – formerly ‘Muzieksschool Peter van Anrooy – as an Guitar Teacher from january 1976 till up including july 2008. 28 – 09 – ‘Levenswerk’{Live’s work} of Mia van Mensvoort with her Ceramics exposed in Abdij{Abbey} Marïenkroon, Nieuwkuijk, The Netherlands. I was fascinated by an enormous,abstract,fluent,vital,rotation, in which barbedwire, a ceramic reprentation in a flat plane, made by Mia. Mia about that work: I like so much dancing, but I have to slow down… I was sitting – with Mia and her relatives and the public – close to ‘that work’ playing on the Guitar an Argentin Zamba in a fluent rhytm and in the highest pitches of the music slowing down several times because in the score of ‘ that Zamba’ is written to slow down several times. At a beautiful ceramic face of a little girl – made by Mia – I was singing/playing
Little girl on a bicycle. After this two examples, followed several other examples with my Music work – compositions by my self too – to relate to the ‘Live’s work of Mia van Mensvoort; on that day of Her Exposition.
2009 21 – 03 … I finished my compositoin for Viola and Guitar. Dedicated to Mikhail Zemtsov and Enno Voorhorst.

27 – 06 – Farewell Concert in: De Toonzaal in ‘s – Hertogenbosch – The Netherlands – because of my departure at ‘De Muzerije’ Centre of the Arts, formerly ‘Stedelijke Muziekschool ‘s -Hertogenbosch’ as an Guitar Teacher from 1976 till up and including july 2010. This concert – in four parts… was more ore less my musical live in a nutshell: In solo performances. Witth collegues. With my pupils. With my youngest daughter and yougest son.. 06 – 09 – Working – from this date – as a private Guitar teacher at my home. 04 – 12 – Nacht Der Weltmusik – Soest – Germany : In this- Night Of World Music- with several musicians, I had a Solo Performance with Guitar – Singing/Guitar and Poetry in works by others and myself. And a Duo for two Guitars, performed by my german friend and collegue Wolfgang Bargel and me at the final of my Solo Performance.
2011 05 -02 – Solo Concert in De Lutherse Kerk [Lutheran Church} in Leerdam – The Netherlands. On Vihuela and three Guitars in three different tunings. In Music of the Reaissance, Barock, Classic, South American and some Music and Poetry by myself. I performed for the first time [in my experiece in public] Singing with Guitar accompaniment in the ‘Recitativo’ :’ Frondi tenere’ and the ‘Arioso’:’ Ombra mai fu’ together more known as ‘Largo of Haendel’ from the Opera’ Serse’ by George Frederick Haendel. 13 -03 – first time { ment to be } on You tube with ‘Manifiesto’ by Victor jara in my interpretation {Singing/Guitar}
